Meeting

Carrington and New Bolingbroke Town Council is made up of eight elected members - comprising the Chairman/Mayor, Vice-Chairman/Deputy Mayor and six members who are all unpaid volunteers that work for the benefit of the community and all local residents.

The Town Council is fully accountable and subject to detailed audit.

The Town Clerk to the Council is the Proper Officer and also the Responsible Financial Officer and is a paid, part-time employee.

Meetings of the Town Council are normally held at 7:00pm on the last or 4th Tuesday of the month, 9 months of the year: Normally not meeting in February, August & December.

Public and press may attend full council meetings and can speak briefly on village matters before the commencement of the meeting but not during the meeting.

Local councils are the first tier of governance and are the first point of contact for anyone concerned with a community issue. They are democratically elected local authorities.

The Annual Town Meeting for residents is held between 1 March and 1 June; Due to Covid-19 the annual meetings were not held in 2020.

The Annual meeting of the Council is held in May when the Chairman/Mayor and Vice Chairman/Deputy Mayor of the Council are elected.
